You will also receive an introduction to programming in the computer languages used to write UNIX system programs. These courses can be taken adjunctly or can be transferred directly into an Associate Degree in Applied Science.

Upon completion of a UNIX certification program, you will be able to install and manage workstations and servers; set up and maintain computer networks, including layout, cabling, devices and protocols; upgrade, troubleshoot and repair workstation, server and networking hardware; establish appropriate security policies, implement intrusion detection systems, identify security threats, build deterrence and prevention systems, and audit networks for potential threats; and install and maintain web servers.
